I have always been one of those people chasing the next new workout or diet. I have probably belonged to every gym here in Bloomington/Normal and bought every infomercial DVD. I was on an exercise and diet roller coaster. I was stuck! I joined CrossFit because I saw Kami and how great she looked. I went in thinking I was in ok shape because I was running half marathons, etc. In seven minutes I found out differently. Just that workout gave me a huge challenge that kept me coming back for more! The workouts are so intense but so rewarding! The coaches and people at TBC have become like a second family to me. The support system is unreal!
CrossFit has been a part of my life since Sept. '09. It has become a part of my everyday life. The way I think, eat and act. I still have more transformations but I know it will happen with CrossFit. I am so excited to see how far I can go. I am ADDICTE... Read more Coach Juli juli@crossfittbc.com

For some people it's a favorite pair of jeans that no longer fit. For others it's a stinging comment that hits a little too close to home.
For me, it was looking at a photograph, a particularly bad photograph.
Afterwards I thought 'Oh my god, Chris Farley called – he wants his chins back.' The next day I signed up for a membership at a local gym.
But, two months into it, I felt like I was treading water. Despite dropping almost 15 pounds, I knew I had hit a wall. That's when I walked into The Body Compound and changed my life.
When I came through the front door, I was carrying more than just extra weight. The sudden, unexpected death of a close friend had made it hard to care about anything that didn't include eating bad take-out and sitting on my couch. I was determined to change my life, but I wasn't sure I could do it. After just three months at The Body Compound I shed ... Read more Coach Matt matt@crossfittbc.com
Officially The Body Compound's third member, Matt quickly realized he wanted to do more than attend class. He wanted to impact people's lives. Was he worried about the leap from business owner to CrossFit trainer?
"This wasn't a risk for me," said Matt. "When you believe in something the way I believe in CrossFit, you dive in. I never hesitated."
What started out as a typical New Year's resolution to 'get fit' has forever changed Matt's life. He started eating right and shed 20 pounds. If you look at Matt, he resembles a picture of health. That description wasn't always true.
"I've always looked fit," said Matt. "But was I fit? No. That's why I want people to completely buy in like I did. I want people to experience that rush when you start dropping weight and gaining strength. It's addictive. It's irreplaceable."
Matt's belief in CrossFit extends well beyond the gym doors. I... Read more Coach MattH matth@crossfittbc.com Coach Rosie rosie@crossfittbc.com
It's amazing how one seemingly insignificant action can result in huge life changes. It was a usual weekend afternoon in September 2010. I happen to be able to get a sitter, so I figured I would run some errands. I heard that there was a gym open house, and thought that I would swing by to wish the owner congratulations (I hadn't seen Jesse for a while). I wasn't expecting anything different, but when I walked in, the first thing I thought was "where's all the machines?"
Now realize that I wasn't interested in changing my workout routine. Since I was 7 months post-pregnancy, I was sporting more weight than usual. But I was back in full swing at my regular fitness classes at another gym, both as a participant and as an instructor. The weight was coming off and I felt good. I was in pretty good shape and wasn't looking for anything different. But watching people jump up on boxes, thro... Read more
